ADVENT BIBLE STUDY:
For Advent, we'll be using a tiny little book called Pauses for Advent by Trevor Hudson. (It's pretty, too!). The four-week study of daily devotions will continue on Tuesdays at 1:00 pm in the Ungemah Room until December 19.
Book Club Luncheon - On Thursday, December 14 at noon, the Book Club will celebrate the season by discussing Christmas stories. Read one of the following and we will share the stories with one another over lunch at Fiona's in Midland Park at 12:00: The Christmas Candle by Richard Paul Evans, Christmas Day in the Morning by Pearl S. Buck or Yes, Virginia, There Is A Santa Claus by Francis Church. Please RSVP to the church office if you wish to attend.
Join seniors at the church the second Wednesday of the month for fellowship over breakfast at Oakland Diner.
One Saturday a month, parents of young children gather for coffee or brunch while the kids play. Contact Pastor Alison for more information, the location, or questions.
SERVING AT CUMAC:
Every Tuesday from 9-1, a group from FLUMC travels to Paterson to help sort donations for the thrift store at CUMAC. We also serve Meals-on-Wheels regularly and have one-time service opportunities as often as we can.
A group of folks from FLUMC who love the outdoors go on regular hikes as a way to connect with each other and with God through nature. Some hikes are on weekdays and some on weekends. MINDFULNESS MEDITATION is being offered to the general public free of charge and is hosted by the Franklin Lakes Methodist Church on the 2nd and 4th Sundays of the month at 11:30 a.m. and also on Tuesdays at 7:00 p.m. in the church annex room at 454 Pulis Avenue in Franklin Lakes.
This form of Mindfulness Meditation is a simple secular practice based on MBSR (Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction). Learn guided practice for awareness, breath, simple movement and guided meditations to help regulate emotions, reduce stress and anxiety, balance the nervous system and create well being.
